BIG UNIT BROKEN: D-Backs to start Max Scherzer to start Sunday at Dodger Stadium

Randy_johnson Randy Johnson will not start Sunday for the D-Backs in the series finale against the surging LA Dodgers. The Big Unit says “I felt like this might be the opportunity to get a little bit of a breather for my shoulder.” Huh? THIS is a good chance to get a breather? With your team flailing against the Dodgers about to pass 'em in the standings? Sit one out NOW?

Andre Ethier is on fire for the Dodgers. Last night he had 5 hits and was a triple shy of the cycle as LA steam-rolled Arizona 7-0. Derek Lowe was deadly, allowing just 2 hits, and Chan Ho Park threw a perfect 9th with 2 K's. It could be another great day for Ethier today against Brandon Webb. The Dodger left fielder is 9-18 with 4 doubles and a homer against Webb, who is taking his third crack at his 20th win.

Clayton Kershaw vs. Max Scherzer is a fascinating pitching matchup. They are both rookies with dynamic stuff. These 2 pitchers could be battling for the Cy Young Award in 2010. For now, they are battling for the fate of the NL West. (That picture is not Randy Johnson telling Max Scherzer that he's getting the start tomorrow.)

Randy pitched against the DBacks and had a good day. What Giant fans need to know is Randy requires alot of pampering. Not that he is spoiled but he is old and his body needs time to heal.
