I'll never forget where I was....
...when I saw Villanova upset heavily-favored Georgetown in 1985.
I was a sophomore at Bowling Green State University. At the Sigma Phi Epsilon house, we had a TV lounge with a big screen. As I remember it, the TV had a great big picture, but it was as thick as it was tall. Remember how clunky those things used to be?
Little Rollie Massimino was a little volcano of emotion. He was sweating and swearing and getting his team to believe that they could slay Goliath. And, in the end, the Wildcats won it 66-64, and Ed Pinckney was named the NCAA Tournament's Outstanding Player. He joined me this week for a look back and he gave a shout-out to this year's Jay Wright-coached Wildcat team that is still alive.
